The Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN) is a mandatory document for all shipments destined for South Sudan.
Each B/L covering goods destined for South Sudan must be follow by an ECTN for the correct completion of the formalities at destination.
The ECTN being processed must be completed and submitted for validation within 5 calendar days from the date of communication of the ECTN number.
The number of the ECTN must appear B/L description, otherwise the document cannot be finalized. The ECTN validated permit the importer to be ready for the clearance formalities before the vessel arrival.
Once the ECTN draft has been submitted and approved for pre-validation, changes will no longer be possible. If there are requests for changes after the pre-validation, the cost of the correction will be applied.
Documents required for issuing the ECTN:
Copy dated B/L (for the final validation the OBL is mandatory. It must follow within 5 days from the date of communication of the ECTN number which must be inserted on B/L);
Copy of the detailed commercial invoice (check if the transport value is mentioned as per Incoterms);
Copy of sea freight invoice if the commercial invoice is FOB or ExWorks;
Copy of Custom declaration ;
